Introducing Bianca and Stefanie from Architecture Department, and Yujin as their dorm-mate. We spent each weekend traveling tourist spots and below are our adventures.

GAY COUPLE WEDDING SHOOTS HERE!
So, Yujin ate too much and had a funny stomach so Bianca, Stefanie and I decided to travel on our own. Thanks to Bianca's advice, we've made it to the famous Disney Concert Hall. The Interior design was a decade ago, not as exciting as its hanging garden where we met gay couples with fancy blue "blue" suit taking photo shoots!

#Little Tokyo
FEELS LIKE HOME
This time, thanks to Yujin's suggestion, we've made it to Little Tokyo. Things here made me feel familiar: Ramen, Sushi, and thank god, REAL soy sauce. My two companion from German asked me,
"Jamie, why are most China blue?"
Then that urging part of me who just want to 'preach' all the time started talking about History of the Japanese culture and Chinese culture. Hmm... I hope they had a pleasant time with my lecture.
ps. Food trucks are super popular around here, we had an chocolate chip ice-cream roll :P
#Pre-Lunar Festival with Wannie (PLG)
WANNIE FROM DIAMOND BAR.
Turns out that Wannie and Pearl's relatives lives at Diamond Bar, which is super close to Cal Poly Pomona. Therefore, Wannie invited me to join their dinner two weeks before Lunar Festival and had me brought home 榮華月餅 as gifts! (Yeah, they're Cantonese)
MAKE YOUR OWN SALAD
Thanks to Wannie's concern upon my horrible cooking skills, we made this gigantic bowl of salad together. Recipe follows:

A TORTURING RIDE
Okay, this is a stressing story. We rent a car with three other people from our class and drove all the way the San Francisco. It was a six hour drive, I woke up for literary, six times, and the last time I woke up, I wasn't there yet. Huh.

#LA County Fair
YOUR PARADISE, MY NIGHTMARE
This time, it's Stefanie's poll to decide where we go for the weekend and she has been mentioning about the LA county fair. We made it on the last day, where people are still pouring in non stop. This is basically a gigantic amusement park built up from a plain farm. There are three fairy's wheel, a section for kids to interact with animals (horse, pigs, snakes, sheep, lama... which we later on found out they're all exported from our school Cal Poly. No wonder people call us the farm), and crazy roller coster zone for people like Yujin (and Stefanie) but not me.
I ALWAYS FORGOT HOW PROPORTIONS HERE ARE LARGER

I remember ordering two bacon cheese sandwiches and two appetizers for three starving stomaches. Life always proves me wrong. It turns out that sandwich was made of gigantic potato with the size of my face instead of buns.
I finished the rest of it as breakfast.
#Universal Studio Horror Night
"This is great!" said Bianca
To be honest, I was the one who pull the row this time. Shame on me. I freaked out while entering the Universal Horror Nights. It was nothing I thought it would be. Professional actors portraying Jack o' lantern, Texas Chainsaw and bunch of monsters I've never seen before. The problem is that the whole park was like a hardcore metallic concert held in a maze. It was super dark with fire guns splitting fire everywhere that you can hardly tell whether it's ghost or human beside you.
Bianca and I are shivering at the corner, dodging the coming phantoms, while Yujin and Stefanie are giggling like innocent kids enjoying their Christmas morning.
I went to watch the Jabbawockeez for a break, and we made it to the Transformer fast ride all together...
You know, how adults don't usually have the chance to speak or talk about their feelings "during the rides"? When you have strangers you don't know joining you on the same ride. Especially when all those 4D sound effect, water effects are all over trying to blow your mind off. You are so busy already, then you hear by some corner in the car saying,
"This is great! Ohh! This is so good!"
Bianca left me speechless but laughed so hard.

During one of the busy days in Cal Poly, I received a message from Pr. Hofu. He's inviting me to join the AAa/e annual dinner party (with a black tie dress code!) I dressed up, got there and had a surprising evening when realizing the organization has been sponsoring exchanging projects from Taiwan.
A week later, while Taylor Swift won the AMAS, I went on looking up her songs and found "Delicate". Where the music video was shot at the very same hotel we had dinner at!
What a coincedence.

Most architecture are playing the role of a backgrounder especially in a dense city like Taipei or HK, Tokyo. This is the topic I'd like to dig through in the future.
